Research:
Mao Liuxi is an applied and agriculture meteorologist. His original research interest is crops yield prediction, agro-meteorological information, sustainable agriculture, applied meteorological Services. Since 2004, his research interest changed to meteorologically-driven ecological monitoring and assessment, and he began working on the relation of meteorology and ecology. He has authored 30 publications in peer viewed scientific journals.

He is a holder of PhD degree of science, a senior research fellow. He graduated from the Department of Agro-meteorology, Nanjing Institute of Meteorology (renamed as Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology), with a Bachelor degree in agro-meteorology in 1983 and with a Master degree in App-meteorology in 1996. He received his Ph.D in the College of Agronomy and Biotechnology, China Agricultural University. He is currently the deputy director in the division of meteorological services for ecology and agriculture of NMC, CMA.
