Our students come to the University of Virginia from throughout the United States and, indeed, the world. Most of our undergraduate and graduate students travel to field and research locations around the globe - often to extremely remote and challenging sites.
CRES also regularly hosts graduate students from developing countries eager to take advantage of the state-of-the-art educational and technological opportunities available through the Center and UVa.
Importantly, our students also have the opportunity to learn first-hand from teachers in our partner institutions in developing countries (see SAVANA). These unusual opportunities give CRES - and our students - a unique credibility and "edge" in the field of global environmental education and research.
Faculty & Staff
CRES draws its Faculty collaborators from a number of departments and schools throughout the University of Virginia and the UVa Health Sciences System.
The faculty share a commitment to collaboration and a long history of successful teaching and research efforts.
Global Partners & Collaborators
The Center for Regional Environmental Studies encourages and supports the critically important global perspective provided by colleagues from regions around the world.
This vital perspective is provided by visiting faculty, collaborators, and students - as well as by international students enrolled at the University of Virginia.
We like to keep tabs on the great work being done by former CRES students and faculty.
